Can Plexiglass Break Easily? (Read This First!)

Heat treatment is one of the most crucial parts of making acrylic sheets or plexiglasses. In the heat treatment procedure, it is needed to put the sheets for 24 to 96 hours. The heat treatment varies with the size of the element.

These cracked acrylic sheets or plexiglass need to treat well by polishing and other machining procedures. Or the plexiglass may not provide the utility people want to give.

Using a Glass Cutter:

To break plexiglass, you need the same material as a glass cutter. The plexiglass can be thick or thin. Thick plexiglass required more attention to cut into pieces than a thinner one.

Again you can use a glass cutting knife or saw to cut plexiglass. Plexiglasses have plastic bonding, which is so strong at normal temperatures.

You need to give 10-12 scratches to a deep cut on plexiglass with the glass cutting knife. As plexiglass is highly strong and polymerized.

Big Broken Chunk:

Another vital thing about plexiglass is it is safe to use. As if the plexiglass is smashed, it will break into big chunks. It will not cause any problem to the user.
