How To Install Electrical Outlet In Kitchen Island?

- Measure the dimensions of your receptacle box.
- Cut the part of wood from the side panel of your kitchen island where you plan to install the outlet.
- Look for the nearest electrical circuit in your kitchen. Make sure you are NOT using a dedicated circuit for this purpose! Carefully, measure the distance between your planned outlet and this receptacle.
- Cut out your wire according to the distance to the receptacle, keeping in mind any bends or turns that may affect the length of the wire reaching your outlet.
- Drill a hole beneath the floor where you want to install your circuit breaker box. Put the wire in and connect it to your chosen circuit.
- Place the receptacle box where you made the first cut. Screw the box into your island using a drill.
- Tug the wiring through the receptacle box, leaving about 6 to 8 inches hanging out, and pull the other end of the wire into the existing receptacle box of your chosen circuit.
- Test out your outlet using a small appliance to see if it works!
