Strip the floor:

As mentioned earlier, your floor needs to be stripped first if there are more than five coats of finish on the floor.

Agitate:

With the help of a floor machine, agitate the stripper by moving it in a circular motion. Vacuum the floor stripper and repeat the process if required. Stripping the floor once might not be enough in some cases when there is a heavy buildup.

Prepare to mop:

You will need two buckets and a clean mop. Fill half of one bucket with water and fill the other bucket with an appropriate amount of floor finish.

Move the mop in a pattern to make sure it reaches all corners. Start from a corner so that you can cover all perimeters by going one small area at a time.

Do this until you are sure the floor is covered with finishing. Let the coat dry for half an hour.

Additional coats:

Once the floor is dry, wipe the floor to prepare it for the second coating. Apply more layers of coats until you think it is enough. The final coat should be left to dry for at least half a day.
